On entering the young men must touch the embers with their hands and feet, while the mn sprinkles them with drops of . By touching the embers the mung, following the young men, will be scared away, and the sprinkling with purifies the young men of the evil effects of their contact with the figure. In this way the ceremony prevents anything evil being carried into the house.
