The visitor may be offered tobacco held out in one hand with the other touching the inside of the extended arm above the wrist. This gesture is made to the elder, but should the recipient be the younger, he instead will make the gesture on accepting something. To be considered courteous, children should cup both hands side by side when receiving a gift. Under no conditions will a cigarette or other article be tossed to a guest, for such treatment is accorded only to a child.
