[T]he rite corresponding to that at the age of one month is held in which they take the baby out of doors and they make its feet touch the ground...To make the children’s feet touch the ground is based on the expectation that they grow familiar with the soil and become good workers (i.e. farmers). This rite is not always held everywhere today.
