Communicate

Quote

As boys and girls grow older, they have less and less physical contact with their mothers and other adults. Moreover, in the Bengali sociocultural system children only occasionally experience direct and overt expressions of affection. Kissing on the head or touching the chin of a child and then kissing the child’s hand are the most typical expressions of physical affection. Older children of nine onward may be patted on their back or caressed gently on their head and face, but the most common forms of approval are expressed nonverbally by the parent with a glance or a smile.
