On all important ritual occasions we find that either a beast is killed as a sacrifice or it passes in its live state from one group to another. Thus, for example, when a girl or boy reaches puberty a beast is killed in celebration of the important event; on marriage a girl is incorporated into the new group by touching the gall of one of its cattle, in addition to which there is also an elaborate process of interchange of cattle between the families as a means of bringing them together in friendship.
