It is interesting to note that, though a married woman must never enter her husband’s cattlekraal and it is customary only for “daughters of the house” to do so, a bride is allowed in the cattle kraal for the Hlambisa, and often also before the actual wedding when, on her ukubcyaleka visit, she is taken to touch the cattle that are intended for her father.
