As soon as the village is reached these young men together with some older men seize the man and carry him forcibly to the girl’s hut. The girl is alone in the hut; not even her mother may be present when the man is brought in. The two--man and girl--are forcibly held together so that their bodies touch. Once his body has touched hers (an initiated girl) in the presence of witnesses he cannot go back to the warrior group, and so has to remain and reconcile himself to premature married life with its restrictions.
