[I]n the commune of Neke, if any one broke a rule, such as that oil-beans were not to be plucked until they were ripe, the Ndishi-Iwu went to his house and placed a knotted palm-leaf on the roof, thereby interdicting the owner from touching anything until he had made a formal appearance before the Ndishi-Iwu.
