A pot of medicine or magic was sometimes bought out of the proceeds of fines for rule breaking. Its property was to keep peace between the members. It would be sprinkled on the floor of the meeting place and members would dip their fingers in it and lick them, dip them in again and touch their forehead, chest and toes.
