If a cousin happened to be in the house when a man had intercourse with his wife, this violation might cause illness. Such an act would demand the sacrifice of a white goat, a chicken, and two white grains. These were taken to the outskirts of the plantation and there cooked and eaten. The person who was in the house at the time of the violation bound the two grains on the hands of the sick person and said, “If it was touching me that caused all this trouble, I have forgiven you and hope you will get well.” If the person recovered he had to avoid the other again. If he did not it was understood that something else had caused the trouble.
